Peformance and monitoring of high performance recycled concrete structures

1. Research Goals

For the application of recycled concrete structure, studying on monitoring and seismic analysis of high performance recycled concrete structures around the dynamic performance and green evaluation of high performance recycled concrete structures. Forming carbon emission calculation theory model and evaluation of high performance recycled concrete structure to make sure the safety and sustainability of recycled concrete. Providing experience for the domestic and foreign research and application to form a classic sustainable concrete building.

The participate institution in this project: Tongji University; Shanghai Research Institute of Building Sciences Group; Shanghai Urban Construction Design& Research Institute; Shanghai Urban Construction Materials Corporation.

3. Contents of international cooperation

1) Field monitoring and analysis of high performance recycled concrete structure

To carry out the research and application of key technologies for monitoring the structure of regenerative concrete based on based on two concrete and recycled concrete construction projects around the similarities and differences of high-performance recycled concrete structures and original concrete structrues on the performance and structural performance. Using wireless monitoring, adaptive control and cloud technology, etc., to study the natural vibration frequency, vibration mode structure, dynamic characteristics of the structure damping and equivalent stiffness change, as well as the relative horizontal displacement and torsion of the structure of the floor, etc., and analyzes it with the ordinary concrete

2) Seismic performance analysis of high performance recycled concrete structures

Carrying out seismic analysis of two buildings. Using monitoring results to analysis the natural frequencies and structure damping and to conduct the structure reaction, such as displacement between layers, interlaminar shear and other indicators, comparing the difference between the two buildings, and to compare with the specification.

3)Study on the theoretical model and evaluation of the carbon emission calculation of high-performance recycled concrete structure

For structure analysis, the use of recycled concrete environmental effect to carry out the study on the life cycle carbon accounting model and method of the recycled concrete, including the analysis of key factors and the formation of statistical parameters of carbon emissions of recycled concrete; the formation of the lifecycle-based carbon accounting model of recycled concrete; finishing and establishing investigation and basic database of carbon emission in ready mixed recycled concrete industry in Shanghai, to promote the green evaluation system of recycled concrete structure and the design of sustainable design system.
